Let’s Make a Jack-O-Lantern !
Almost every year so far, we made a Jack-O-Lantern ! Let’s learn how !
ハロウィン間近になるとMUKIMUに現れるもの！それはジャッコランタン！
今年もちょうどいい大きさのパンプキンが届きました。
さっそく作って見ましょう！

Draw a Face. 顔を書いて Cut it. カットして Scoop it out. すくって
It stinks. くさいなぁ It’s slimy. ぬるぬるしてる This is Gross. 気持ち悪いね We did it ! やったぁ！
多くの人が「パンプキン＝かぼちゃ」と捉えがちです。
似ている部分も多いのですが、形と質感が全く違います。しいていえば
りんごと梨も似ているけど違うのと同じ感じです。
パンプキンは日本では稀ですが、画像の立派なものをスーパーで見つけました。
しかも大きいのは１個しかなかったのでラッキーでした。
Many people think that pumpkins and kabocha are the same but actually they are not, although similar, the texture and shape are quite different. Likewise, apples and nashi are also similar but not one of the same. Pumpkins are kind of rare in Japanese. We found this one at the supermarket. There was only one. LUCKY !

まずはじめにパンプキンの表面にマーカーで顔を書きます。
上のへたの周りに大きめに円を書くのもお忘れなく。
書き終わったら上の周りの円からナイフで切っていきます。
身の部分も完全に切って、フタのように開けてください。
First, draw a design on the pumpkin with a marker, include a wide circle around the stem, like a small lid for a pot. Then very carefully cut the circle so the top is open.
Once the pumpkin cavity is open, you will notice a dank smell.
Next, start scooping out the seeds with your hands.
次にパンプキンの中のタネを取り出します。
ぬるぬるするのと繊維が多いので、手袋を使うといいでしょう。
You can save them or throw them out.
種を取り出したら顔の部分もカットしていきます。
Carefully cut out the shapes of face.
形に沿って気をつけながらナイフで切り取りましょう。
We did it ! Yay ! Happy Halloween ! When your Jack-O-Lantern is complete, put a candle or light inside. We used a small light for safety.

ジャッコランタンが出来上がったら、中にろうそくかライトを入れて灯してみて下さい。今回私たちは安全性を考慮して小さめのライトを使いました。
