♦︎ Hump-day (Wednesday)
元々Hampは「こぶ」という意味。
Hamp-dayとは週の真ん中(水曜日)を指す言葉です。
週明けから週末にかけてが1つの山だとすれば
月曜日がそのスタート地点、水曜日が丘の一番てっぺんで、木曜日からが下りにあたり
ます。水曜を乗り越えれば週末まであと少し!というイメージです。
Wednesday is in the middle of the work week and school week so we can say hump day. If Monday were at the beginning of a hill then Wednesday would be the peak, and Thursday and Friday would be the downhill.

Get Over the Humpは、ピンチや一番きつい状況を乗り越えるという意味で

Get over the hump means to face a challenge and get through the difficult thing. Each little challenge in life is like a hump or a hill to climb. Finishing
homework is getting over the hump. Taking a test is getting over the hump.
If you were to run a 40 km marathon than 20 km would be the hump.
